- Charles Pieper is a director, stop motion animator, editor and monster maker in Los Angeles.He directed music videos for the bands Dufus, Summerbirds in the Cellar, Setting Sun, Quitzow, Brit and the Cavalry, Skidmore Fountain, Lo Fi Sugar, YesMisterBloodVessel and Man's Assassination, Man.He studied film at Emerson, FAMU, CalArts, and NCSA.His animations and films have been seen in festivals in Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, Toronto, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Kentucky, Poland, Madrid, Kiev, Tokyo, and more.

Practical Effects/Art Team"ItsOkayItsOkay" Jonathan Ade Short Film
Designed and built out the practical effects for the film's nightmare sequences, such as a stretchable latex ceiling with a fan attached, large rollers under a carpet to emulate waves, and hidden monofilament wires to create movement of inanimate objects. Also assisted in the build-up of the entire set including a long hallway and two bedrooms.

“The Trail of Cthulu,” a really beat up 1971 softcover edition of one of August Derleth’s continued stories within the world set up by Lovecraft.
“Between Two Worlds” by Nandor Fodor. 1964 hardcover first edition (and yes I have the softcover of this as well for it has an equally cool but different cover!)
Also: If you can find me a supernatural investigator with a name COOLER then NANDOR FODOR I…well…I just won’t believe you!

1968 first edition hardcover. This is a book of strange and funny tombstone inscriptions from graveyards all across America. It is awesome and a fave of my collection.

1974 softcover.
Brilliant cover…Other covers in this series show the author’s face, but as Pynchon is known for his privateness (and since there are not many photos of him at all) they decided to show the back of someone’s head instead.

The surrealist collage art of Jan Svankmajer is a beautiful thing and if I had my way I’d have at least one room in my apartment wall papered in it.

Last night right after ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ ended at USC, Ray Wise (who was watching from the center of the front row) stood up, turned to the audience, and said loudly:
“Well, I’m exhausted!”
It was an amazing moment. As were prior moments such as Kyle Machlachlan being there and discussing Cooper, and being able to see in person so many of the original props and artifacts from the show!
WOW. Good times!
